

Janet Lillian Davis–Mauth (Jan) went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2023. She was born February 28, 1943 to Grace Lillian Davis in Alamosa Colorado. Jan was the youngest of five children. She married Wendell Mauth of Alamosa, COon April 15, 1960. They moved to Ellsworth Airforce Base in Rapid City, SD where Wendell was based. They transferred to Anchorage, Alaska in 1962, where they remained until Wendell’s release from the Airforce. Jan and Wendell returned to Alamosa and their families. Wendell was hired by the Colorado State Department of Transportation and moved to Walden, CO in 1968. Jan earned her GED and was employed with North Park State Bank while in Walden. Wendell was promoted and transferred to Hayden CDOT in 1980. Wendell passed away October 30, 1997. Jan worked for Yampa Valley National Bank and Steamboat Title Company until she moved to Craig in 2000, where she worked for MJK until her retirement.
Jan was an avid reader and enjoyed many genres of books. She enjoyed house remodeling, painting, her yard, flowers and the deer that often visited. Jan's grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Jan had a quick generous smile and an infectious giggle that people will remember.
She is survived by her sister Coreen Melonas, Alamosa CO; children Denise (Duane) Leonard, Craig CO; Nanette Mauth, Craig CO; and Stephanie (Martin) Dominguez, Grand Junction CO. She is survived by six grandchildren: J’Leah (James) Richardson, Meeker CO; Nathaniel Mauth, Craig CO; Amber (Derek) Thomas, Craig CO; Eryn (Adam) Secules, Grand Junction CO; Jessie (Tellyn) Tafoya, New Mexico; and Ashley Suits, Craig CO. Jan is also survived by nine great grandchildren: Ty, Coy and Cody Richardson, Meeker CO; Ethan, Lily and Hunter Suits, North Carolina; Andrea and Melody Thomas, Craig CO; and Nyra Secules, Grand Junction CO.
Jan was preceded in death by her mother Grace Davis; her husband Wendell Mauth; her brothers, Vernon (Rose) Davis; Lorne (Jean) Davis; her sister Eileen (Dick) Houston; her daughter Lorna (Allen) Suits; son-in-law Larry Allen Suits; and grandson Christopher Suits.
Per Jan's explicit wishes, there are no formal services planned.
