Louise was born on the farm outside of Berlin, North Dakota on May 6, 1937, the third oldest of fifteen children of Leo and Ludwina (Geffre) Dunn. She grew up on farms around Oakes, North Dakota. Louise graduated from Oakes High School in 1955.
While Louise was working her way through high school waiting tables at the Oakes Café she met a handsome young man. Shortly after graduating she married her handsome young man, Francis Paul Lux, on October 24, 1955. Together they shared 70 years of love, and adventure.
They left North Dakota following the oilfield to Wyoming. In Edgerton, Wyoming Louise found work cooking and waitressing. Fran and Louise followed the oilfield to Craig Colorado and they decided to stay.
During their life in Craig, they met many friends who became family. Not only did they find friends in the community but also in St. Michael's Catholic Church congregation.
Louise had a deep faith that she lived by. She was an active and devoted member of the church parish. Louise was in charge of the funeral dinners for the church for over 60 years. She took great honor and pride in being able to help comfort grieving families in any small way. She also taught CCD religious education for many years where she touched many lives.
Louise worked, volunteered and participated in a variety of jobs and projects over the years including starting her own business D-Lux Pilot Car Service, which she was very proud of and is still in operation.
Louise volunteered as a Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader, Girl Scout Leader, 4-H leader, among others. Louise truly loved sharing her knowledge, but more than that she loved sharing her kindness with people. Louise was always the first person to invite a stranger to spend the holidays with the family, so no one had to spend a holiday alone, no matter the circumstances. She was also the first person to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed it and she was not one to ever say no. Her kindness and open displays of love will be greatly missed by so many.
One of Louise’s greatest joys was her family. Louise is survived by her husband Francis Lux, children Perry (Debbie) Lux, Grace Lux (Doak Chew), and Paula Lux (Steve Bost), Grandchildren Hila (Mike) Seevers, Lena Mounce, Amelia (Kyle) Young, Katelyn Lux and Audi and Steven Bost, 12 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren, her siblings Jean Coleman, Darlene Yockey, Francis (Colleen) Dunn, Charles (Michelle) Dunn, Bruce Dunn and Mary Castro, in laws, Caroline Dunn, Leona Marshall, Mary (William) Goddard, Charles Lux, Barb Lux, Theresa (James) Fields, Margaret (Neal) Bohnsack.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Alois Dunn, Eva Dunn Brown Meyers (Merwin Brown), Paul Dunn, Art Dunn, Leonard Dunn (Judy), Ella Dunn Gnewuch (William), Julia Dunn German Sadler (James German, second husband John Sadler), Anthony Dunn, Bonnie & Clair Villard, her in-laws Frances and Melvin Lux, her brothers-in-laws Richard Lux (Gladys), Melvin Lux (Shirley and second wife Alice), Lawrence Lux, James Marshall, Jerry Coleman, and Phil Yockey, her sisters-in-law Sister Mary Frances Lux, and Philann Lighthizer Lux, her grandson Kody Lux, and many others.
