Rose Sally Hoth was born in Rock Springs Wyoming December 18, 1926, to Jack and Mattie Hoth. She was the oldest of her siblings Bud, Jonnie, Dorothy and Janie. They lived at Cedar Springs during her youth and she and her siblings rode horses to Freeman Draw, to attend school. Later her Parents bought a ranch in Buena Vista. This is where she lived when Dad proposed. Sally and Ray were married December 17, 1944 at Sioux City S.D. and to this union were born 6 children all born in Hayden Colorado at Solandt Hospital. They lived at Sunbeam on the Sevens, at the Johnson place, and in the shotgun house across from the park in Maybell, eventually purchasing a two room home on the hill known as “home” for all the kids. The two rooms had no electricity or water, so they built on as they could to make room for their growing family. Sally was known as a friend to MANY, She always had an open door to visit, the coffee was on and usually a dishpan full of popcorn! She raised a large garden, canning and hunting to feed the family. She had Chickens, a milk cow, and horses around too. She loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with her family and friends. She helped raise many kids that weren’t her own, but loved them like they were! Sally enjoyed her time of owning and running the Oasis cafe and station With Ray and all the kids. Sally enjoyed anything outside and spent her time working in her garden, digging bottles, hunting arrow heads, looking for treasures in the Maybell mall, and running the ranch on Price Creek with Ray.
