

Sandra Kay Evans was born April 29, 1952, in Clinton Kentucky, the daughter of Robert (Bob) and Delores (Messer) Jones. As a child Kay went to school in Arco, Idaho from first through the seventh grade then moved to Montana where she went to school her eighth through tenth grade year before moving to Baggs in 1968 where she attended Morrow High school her junior and senior year.
Kay married George Evans on July 3, 1970, in Baggs, Wyoming. They made their home in Baggs and became the parents of four children. Kay was a homemaker and a rancher. She loved the ranching life and spent many years raising her sheep that she loved. Her devotion to making sure everyone was well fed after a hard day’s work made her happy. Kay enjoyed sewing blankets, cross stitching on sweatshirts for all her kids and grandkids at Christmas time, working in her yard, cooking, reading books and spending time with her family.
Kay passed away on September 8, 2023, in Silverthorne, Colorado due to an automobile accident. She was 71 years old. She is survived by her daughter, Hollie (Jay) Dietrich; her sons, George Jason (Jenny) Evans, Robert Evans, Clay (Tanya) Evans, all of Baggs; her grandchildren Peyton, Kendal (OB), Kami, Jaydence, Kameron (Amy), Karter, Kylie, Kenzie, Kelton, Aspen, Easton, and Georgie; her great grandchildren Dawson, McKinley, Cambree, Riverly and George; and her sisters Pam (Lester) Montgomery, Candy (Don) Price, brother Craig (Teresa) Jones and many nieces and nephews.
Kay was preceded in death by her father, Robert; mother, Delores; husband, George; baby brother, Gary.
A funeral service will be held on September 18, 2023, at the Little Snake River School in Baggs, Wyoming at 2pm. Interment followed at the Baggs Cemetery.
