My deepest condolences to the family of Darren.  He was always helpful from knowing him through his work at Cubesmart.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and always willing to lend a helping hand. May you rest in peace and enjoy spending time with your Mom, family and friends that have gone before you.

I didn't know Darren much in the early years, but I appreciated getting to know him during his final 7 weeks. At one point during those days, I remember him saying, "I think God might have more for me to do here on earth." Although I was not able to tell him this, I think that his presence in my life in the final weeks was part of God's work through him. I enjoyed my times and conversations with him, mainly in the hospital or care facility he was in. He is missed.

Tried to make the best of everything, good or bad.

I miss my close friend Darren so much; I wasn't even able to visit this site until now.  I want everyone to know that Darren taught me resilience- it is wonderful and amazing to see that word in the beginning of his obituary.
His sense of remembering the past with the talent of being able to continue on with the present was always amazing to me.  Now that I am about to practice it in my own life, I pray that he is with me for this.
I don't need a name here, but I am the last person  outside of the hospice facility to take care of Darren at home.  I was a best friend; not a healthcare professional.  It was my honor to be able to feed him and take care of him no matter what happened next.  I'm grateful for a place to say that finally.   Be well and comfortable now my friend... I know that you missed your parents and others so much.  The only comfort in missing you is knowing that you are with them.  You are still teaching me how to let go, my dear friend. Thank you for everything, including the best cheese sauce (how did you do it's?!), pizza and baked treats in the world - also the cheesiest jokes on earth.  I could go on and on...

I have known Darren as a patient for 20 years.  He brought so many laughs and fun conversations to our clinic over the years, and will be missed by our entire staff.  May he find eternal peace, and rest easy near his beloved mother.

Darren was a former student of mine.  I always enjoyed his sense of humor and talking with him.  He was interesting and kind.  He's one of those students you don't really forget, and when you think of that student, you smile.
He will be missed for sure.

I miss your hearty laugh, especially when we would laugh about something that only you and I thought was hilarious. I miss talking to you about important things, but also the goofiest topics we could think of. 
Dealing with death is never easy and everyone deals with it differently, but I certainly have had a hard time coming to terms with yours. I never thought that would be something I would have to face. I kept thinking you and I would grow old as friends, go to the park and watch people walk by as you point out the horrible outfits they wear. I miss hearing you sing. You had such a powerful voice. It just doesn't make sense to me that you are gone. I keep expecting you to call me, or text me one of your recipes, But I know deep down that's not going to happen. 

I think most of all I want you to know how much you meant to me. I really hope you knew that. You helped me through so many issues in my life and I am forever grateful for that. I truly hope that everyone gets to experience a friend like you. I wish I had the opportunity to tell you that more. 

I wish I can get one more opportunity to talk to you, tell you everything we all love about you, and tell you how much I appreciate, and love you. 

You were, and still are, so loved by many. Even though you are not here anymore, you will always be in my heart. You were such a special person and I hope you still know that.

Darren’s smile and laughter were contagious! I know both of my parents loved him very much but my mom especially had a special bond with Darren. Anytime he was in the area, he would stop in and see my mom at the post office. They would laugh and laugh! Darren gave me great comfort when my mom passed. Words cannot convey how much Darren was and continues to be loved.

Remembering our years at Creve Coeur Christian Church as youth sponsors and Darren’s involvement in many capacities. Special music, Gods Puppets, vacation Bible School, Easter Cantata, Jr Church staff and the list goes on. He was an ever present light with a smile and laugh that was unmistakeable. I know he struggled with health issues the past few years but Cancer became stronger than he was able to fight. I pray Darren is at peace and has joined his Mom for his eternal life. So glad his pain and struggle for breath is no longer a fight for him. RIP My Friend. Praising God for His great mercies.
