Born April 30, 1922 in Dixon, Kentucky to William Bryan and Goldie (Freeman) Vaughn, she married Richard Haskel Allen on September 20, 1939 in Burlington, Iowa. He passed away on October 26, 1998.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Linda Sue Mynhier; one granddaughter, Vicky Mudd; one grandson, Richard Mynhier; one brother, Bill Frank Vaughn and one sister Ida Sue Becker.
Surviving are three children, Carol Jeannette Roberts of Peoria, Robert Bryan (Linda) Allen of Tennessee and Jill Waggoner of Creve Coeur and over 100 grandchildren.
Frances worked for Pabst Brewing Company in Peoria as a bookkeeper retiring in1963. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family.
Frances was a devoted member of her community and member of the Village of Creve Coeur Women’s Club and helped establish the Village of Creve Coeur Library. She was a dispatcher for the Village of Creve Coeur Police Department, on the zoning board, library board, and Tazewell County Election Judge. She volunteered as a grandmother for Methodist Hospital and for the local Cub Scout and Girl Scout Troop.
Her funeral will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor David Lynn will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2021 at White Oak Cemetery in Providence, Kentucky.
