

Born October 19, 1946 in Lincoln to Wallace and Geraldine (Aughton) Luckhart, he married Barbara Howland on September 25, 1998 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Stephany (Chad) Kutz of Lincoln; one son, Scott (Bobbie) Luckhart of Riverton; his stepson, Jeremey Bloom of California; five grandchildren, Brady Luckhart, Wyatt Luckhart, Garrett Luckhart, Aubrey Bloom and Payton Bloom; one sister, Christy (Jeff) Singleton of Lincoln; and his special nieces, Danielle and Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Steve was an Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War.
He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 32 years, retiring as a machine operator in 2004.
Steve enjoyed motorcycles, watching NASCAR and spending time with his family. Drinking coffee and doing crossword puzzles was a typical morning routine for him.
His graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, with military honors conducted by the United States Army and the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County. Pastor John Plunkett will officiate.
