

She was born December 16, 1923 in Cedar Grove, a daughter of John Lee and Gertrude Eikler Estep. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph “Bennie” Taylor, brothers, Burl and Jerald Estep, sisters, Nellie Hundley, and Pearl Hamilton, and grandson, Lionel Britton Rexroad, II.
Bertha was the former owner of Blue Kitchen in Cedar Grove. She was an active member of Highlawn Baptist Church, and former member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed sewing and an avid reader. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend that will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by daughters, Christine Ann Griffith, of Bentleyville, PA, and Barbara Szymanski (Ed), of Temperance, MI, brother, Thomas H. Estep, of St. Albans, WV grandchildren, Debi Gillespie (Eric), of Cross Lanes, WV John Lee Griffith, of Bentleyville, PA, Alexander Taylor Rexroad, of San Francisco, CA, William Anderson Griffith (Roberta), of Stockdale, PA, and John Gary Rexroad, of Vietnam, and 15 great grandchildren.
Celebration of Bertha’s life will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 18, 2018 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home with Celebrant HR Whittington presiding. Immediately following the service a luncheon will be served at Highlawn Baptist Church.
Graveside Service will be at 2:45 PM at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow, WV
Gathering of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 Thursday at the funeral home.
