

Charles Norman “Chuck” Costilow, 71, of St. Albans, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017. He was born in Ronceverte, the son of Charles U. and Erma Powers Costilow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Glenda Mae Blackburn, and his first wife, Rose Costilow. Chuck was a 1964 graduate of St. Albans High School. He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps, having served a tour in Vietnam. He was retired from Bell Atlantic and served on the board of TEROC. Chuck was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved camping, fishing and helping Linda with the Coal River Group. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Linda Hammar Costilow; sister, Marie Collins (Mitch) of Culloden; daughters, Teresa Kay Souther (Scott) of Blacksburg, VA and Lisa Renee Baker (Marc) of St. Albans; grandchildren, Maddie Souther, Cortland Souther, Zachery Souther and Samuel Charles Baker; stepchildren, Mary Jo Beller (Kevin) of McSherrystown, PA, Brad Hammar of AZ and Mitch Hammar (Jill) of St. Albans; step-grandchildren, Bobby Wooden, Reece Beller, Braeden and Corey Hammar. Celebration of Chuck’s life will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B Street, St. Albans with Pastor Rick Perrine officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park with Military Graveside Rites to be conducted. Gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hubbard Hospice House.
