Denzil Jones

He was born May 22, 1930 in Guthrie, the son of John and Callie Skeen Jones. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his first Wanda L. Jones, great granddaughter McKinlee Grace, brothers and sisters.

Denzil retired from AEP with over 30 years of service. He was a US Air Force Veteran. Denzil was a member of Baber Agee Church. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend that will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Melinda Jones, son, Dale W. (Judi), daughters Dena Beckner (Randall), and Sandra Slater (Jerry), all of Charleston, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, sister Loretta Shipman, of Lake Norman, NC and brother Carroll Jones, of Eleanor.

Celebration of Denzil’s life will be 12:00 P.M. Friday, June 27, 2025 at Baber Agee Church with Pastor Dave Samms officiating. Entombment will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville with Military graveside rites conducted by St Albans VFW Post 6418 and American Legion Post 73.

Gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 6 to 8 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home, Cross Lanes.
