Evelyn E. Taylor, 85, of St. Albans, went home to be with the LORD Saturday, August 16, 2014, following a long illness. She was born September 23, 1928 in Point Pleasant, the daughter of Heman and Rita Huffman Derenberger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Tom Taylor, Sr., and son, Eddie Taylor. She was a 14 year employee of Hecks Department Store and later retired from Thomas Memorial Hospital with 11 years of service. Evelyn loved the Cincinnati Reds Baseball Team and knew all the players by name. She also enjoyed going to lunch, listening to gospel music, and playing Bingo with the ladies at her apartment building. She is survived by her son, Tom Taylor, Jr. and his wife, Brenda, of St. Albans; daughters, Ruth Davis and her husband, Bob, of GA and Judy Taylor of St. Albans; grandchildren, Rob Davis, Kevin Davis, Tommy Taylor, III, Tina Fauber, Tami Crewdson and Jeri Gould; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of close friends. A celebration of Evelyn's life will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B Street, St. Albans with Rev. Phil Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
