
Glen Lee Ellison, age 101, of Charleston, passed away on November 5, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston. Surely his faithful and continuous prayers to the Lord to take him home have been answered. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on January 6, 1914 to James E. and Ruth A. Ellison. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of sixty five years, Delores (Dee) and his brother, Stacy Ellison. Glen is survived by his sons, Donald (Margo) of Leesburg, Fl., David (Lana) of Conway, AR and Keith of Shady Spring, WV; daughter, Kathryn (Carl) Calvert of Charleston; sister, Alma Malone of St. Albans; niece, Joyce (Lloyd) Richards of St. Albans; nephews, William and Daniel Ellison of Baltimore, MD and Patrick (Candace) Ellison of Murfreesboro TN; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Mr. Ellison retired in 1976 with 34 years of service as a maintenance machinist at the Union Carbide Corporation, South Charleston Plant. After retiring he and Dee spent many winters in Florida where he could enjoy his favorite pastime, playing golf. He also used his machinist skills making and repairing golf clubs for friends and some of the local Country Clubs and courses. Throughout his life Glen attended worship with congregations at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Central United Methodist Church, First Advent Christian Church and the Park Avenue Church of Christ. The family expresses special thanks to the loving staff at Hubbard Hospice House. The care and compassion given by the entire staff and volunteers was unlike anything we have experienced. Simply wonderful! Services will be held at 2:00pm on November 9, 2015 at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Rd., Cross Lanes, WV, 25313 with the Rev. Dr. John Hardman officiating. Interment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311.
