

Ruby Sheldon of Cross Lanes, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at UPMC Western Hospital, Cumberland, Maryland after an extended illness. The family would like to thank UPMC Hospital for the loving care they provided during Ruby's final days.
Ruby was a loving wife to husband James Sheldon who preceded her in death in 2010. She graduated from Clay County High School and attended church at Community Chapel in Cross Lanes, West Virginia. She loved meeting people, talking with people on the phone and working jigsaw puzzles. Jim and Ruby loved traveling in their Winnebago camper and going to Camp Meetings and Gospel Sings.
She was preceded in death by husband James Sheldon, parents Jess and Pearl Davis of Maysel, West Virginia, sister Anna Bell Reed of Charleston, West Virginia and brother John Davis of West Virginia.
She is survived by her sisters: Chessie Hart of Ridgley, WV and Nina (Rick) Burdeaux of Jacksboro, TN. Brothers: Wilmer (Mary) Davis of Folkson, GA, Bobby (Bonnie) Davis of Summersville, WV, Freddy Davis of Wallback, WV, Richard (Janice) Davis of DeFuniak Springs, FL, Delbert (Donna) Davis of Morgantown, WV, Walter Davis of Skandia, MI and Jeffery Ross (Brenda) Davis of Grafton, WV. Brother-In-Law: Quenton Reed of Charleston, WV.
Visitation will begin at 1:15 pm on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at the Mausoleum at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home. Pastor Jacob Burgess will perform graveside services at 2:00 pm with the brother Jim Eden providing music for the services. Interment will follow immediately after the services.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Chapel of Cross Lanes, WV.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Joyce and Audrey Dawson for the friendship, love, and support they provided t Ruby. Special thanks also go out to neighbors Doug Moony and Travis and Megan Warner.
