He was very kind to others and always was supportive of others. Everywhere he went he would always have the biggest smile on his face. He would always try to help people the best he could. He was a hard worker and would always stay on top of his job. He was retired from Union carbide.
He was preceded in death by his mother Beulah A. Young, and his brother William Barker.
He is survived by his wife, Janie Elswick Barker, of Elkview; his son, Kip Barker and his wife Della "Joanie" Barker, of Cross Lanes;his daughter, Stefanie Barker-Adkins and her husband James Adkins, of Davidson, North Carolina; his two grandchildren, Khloe Barker and Kyra Barker, of Cross Lanes; his sisters, Rebecca Williams, of Cabin Creek, Deanna Samms-Vitello, and her husband Bob Vitello, of Murrysville, Pennsylvania; he had many nieces and nephews, including grand nieces and nephews that he loved very dearly.
Service will be at 10am Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, WV 25313.
Visitation will be Monday, July 9 from 5:30-7:30pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
