Athanasios “Tony” Demetriou of Croton on Hudson, NY passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the age of 79. Tony was born to Antonis and Katerina Demetriou on February 10, 1937 in Greece. Tony loved to garden and was very proud of his tomatoes and cucumbers.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen (Clark) Demetriou, cherished sons Antonio and his wife Kimberly and Dino Demetriou, sister Yioula Masouras, nephews Tony Greco and his wife Jeannie and Steve Hanziargiriou, grandchildren Rena Hanziargiriou, Nicole and Elias Greco, and great grandnephews Jace Reilly, and Stephen and Jack Sutor. Tony was predeceased by his parents and sister Litsa Hanziargiriou.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 4-8PM at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand St., Croton on Hudson, NY. A funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 10AM, St. Basil’s Greek Orthodox Church, Garrison, NY with burial to follow at Bethel Cemetery, Croton on Hudson, NY.
