Celebration of Life

Marco Jason Liubenov was born on Friday, January 9, 1970 in Southampton, NY to Lutizia Liubenov and the late Peter Bogdanov Liubenov and he is survived by his brother Peter Stephan Liubenov. Marco attended schools in Yonkers, NY and graduated high school in 1988 from Huntington High School in Huntington, Long Island, New York. God’s commandment to love was Marco’s way of life. Most of the family, friends, and acquaintances who knew Marco throughout his life were impacted by his genuine compassion for others and the desire to listen and support those who were around him. Phillip Dudley Brown IV helped to raise Marco Jason from the age of 3years old. From Phillip, Marco learned certain life skills that were needed to become independent. The uncompromised love that Marco and Phil had for each other lasted throughout Marco’s entire life. Marco’s love of music started at an early age while his mother was at work he would DJ through his second story window to the Garfield Street neighborhood. This is when and where DJ Chase Roc was born. Through his love for DJing and music he met his life partner of 31 years, Jamie Catala. His passion for carpentry continued throughout his life. Marco not only built mementos in shop while in high school, (some which his mother still has). Then later in life he helped people realize their dreams in the form of restoring and remodeling their homes while working with Tom Stone and Kevin Davis. Marco is survived by his fiancée and life partner, Jamie Catala, four children, Kevin M.P. King, Marco Peter Liubenov, Demi Silvana Liubenov, Evan Giovanni Liubenov and 3 grandchildren, Milania Debra Padilla, Evan Giovanni Liubenov Jr. and Wilder Dudley Liubenov. His brother Peter Stephan Liubenov, parents Lutizia Liubenov and Phillip Dudley Brown IV. His Aunt Sandra and Uncle Bill Graf, Uncle Alvin and Freya Chiappolini, Uncle John Chiappolini, cousins Sierra and Moriah Chiappolini, and Giulio Chiappolini. He was committed and devoted to his children and grandchildren. He will always be loved and greatly missed.

Marco and I attended 6th grade together. I remember he was a very talented artist. We got in touch through Facebook and chatted just recently on June 11. He spoke highly of his children and how proud he was of being a grandfather. When I told him were I lived He mentioned he wanted to take his grandchildren to Legoland in Goshen NY. We spoke about meeting up so I could meet his grandchildren. He said keep in touch. I am heartbroken. I cannot express how sorry I am that I didn’t get to see him one last time. My condolences to the family and friends. Rest In Peace my friend ❤️

Marco is one of a kind. He has a heart of gold and a contagious smile. His work ethic and passion for life and family is enviable. He worked on our home starting two and half years ago and everything here reminds me of him or a conversation we had. He became a dear friend and I'm truly devastated by this loss. We will miss him greatly. I feel fortunate to have known this wonderful soul and he will be in our hearts forever. Our sincere condolences go out to his family and loved ones. He always spoke so highly of all of you! God bless and we will keep you in our prayers.

How I met Marco, I lived @ 63 Garfield St, in Yonkers,Ny. I was 4 years old. I knew Marco over 40 years. He lived upstairs apt# 2D as lived in apt#1D. Plenty of days, I heard his music everyday. Remembering when he started to do carpentry work, is heartfelt! He was very good at what he did, also a great family man. Overwhelmingly, if I may say he has a place in my heart as a brother! I am truly gonna miss him. May you R.I.P Marco A*K*A CHASE ROCK....

It was in the neighborhood of 63 Garfield Street Yonkers, NY when I met Marco. I was about 5/6 years old... 1975/76. I remember him giving me sewing tips... besides sewing we too had Carpentry in common. So our mark is left on all this home we sustained. And so it will be with Marco. The memories of our building a club house together, and his loud music coming out his room when he was transformed into DJ Chase.

Marco my brother we met back when I was 8 and you was 7!! We had so much love and fun growing up on Garfield street. We played, we argued, we fought, and we got in trouble by our parents. No matter what we were always true friends and had each others back. I will always remember when my brothers and I were in the front of the building playing baseball... and listening to you blast your music from your window.
I still can't believe you're gone!! I love you brother!! until we meet again in glory,

Your boy, Orlando
