

Michael Anthony Cornacchia “Buddy”of Cortlandt Manor, NY, a professional in the Westchester automotive industry for over 40 years, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 8, 2014. Buddy was 62 years old and is survived by his wife of 19 years Dina Leung, father Joseph Cornacchia, sister Dolores, his nieces Sandy and Judy and nephew Tres. He was predeceased by his mother Anne. He is beloved by his family and many friends.
Buddy grew up in Manhasset Hills, Long Island where he attended Herricks High School and was a star wrestler, soccer and baseball player. Buddy earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Masters in Education from St. Lawrence University in 1974.
Buddy worked at a number of automotive organizations throughout Westchester, most notably Dell Buick Cadillac, Ossining, NY, which was owned by his father Joseph, and where Buddy managed the business operations.
Buddy was an avid reader, golfer, swimmer, Yankees, Giants & Rangers fan and loved to travel with his wife Dina.
Buddy loved to share his passion of sports with friends and family. He was the head coach of the wrestling teams at Clarkson University and Croton-on-Hudson High School.
His wake will be held on Tuesday, November 11th at Edward F. Carter Funeral Homes, 41 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson, NY from 1-4:30 pm. A prayer service will be held ath 4:30 pm at the funeral home. On Thursday, November 13th at 2:00 pm, entombment of his ashes will take place at Holy Rood Cemetery, 111 Old Country Road, Westbury, Long Island, NY 11590.
