Myrtle C. Sorenson

Myrtle was born on September 30, 1926 in Greenfield, MA to the late Roy S. and Myrtle E. (Atcherson) Alford.

Myrtle loved children. She was a fun positive person to be around. Myrtle liked to bake, garden and work alongside her husband of 53 years. She was generous with her time, love and assets and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Myrtle is survived by her loving children, Noreen Walsh and her husband Edward, Karen O’Riley and her husband David, Fred Sorenson and his wife Lynn and June Sorenson-Jenney; caring brother Thomas Alford and his wife Lois; adoring grandchildren, Edward Walsh, Jr., Jonathan Walsh, Sheila O’Riley, Theresa O’Riley, Jessica Sorenson, Matthew Sorenson and Michael Jenney. She is also survived by 12 cherished great grandchildren, Jayde, Jeremy, Joshua, Jace, Tyler, Samantha, Nathanial, Miranda, Brooklyn, Jonah, Lynn and Daniella. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Fred A. Sorenson; brothers, Roy Alford and Steve Alford and grandchildren, Timothy O’Riley, Andrew Sorenson and Jennifer Jenney.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson, NY. (Please Adhere to NYS DOH Social Distancing Guidelines.) Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 29th also at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
