Roy is survived by his wife, Mary and daughters, Alessandra and Annalise. He is also survived by his brother, Robert, of California and several cousins in Maine and New York. Roy is also survived by his father-in-law, mother-in-law, brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Roy was a friend to many and will be greatly missed. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for them.
He was married for almost 30 years. His daughters were the light of his life and he loved them dearly. He was proud of them each and every day. He shared with them his love of travel and took them on several Dad and Daughter trips to Europe. Because of those trips they have become intrepid travelers themselves.
Roy had many varied interests and was extremely well-read, particularly in military history and history in general. He also loved architecture, music, cooking, gardening, construction, design and building.
His family would like to thank all those that cared for Roy these past few months. The care and compassion of the many doctors, nurses, care technicians, social workers, and therapists at NYU Langone, Rusk Rehabilitation and Calvary Hospital will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvary Hospital, 1740 Eastchester Rd., Bronx, NY, 10461 in Roy’s name.
Visitation will be at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson, NY, on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, from 4pm to 7pm, followed by a celebrant service. Burial is private.
