Benedetto "Ben" T. Sorci

Benedetto “Ben” T. Sorci, of Crystal Lake, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at the age of 98 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born June 15, 1919 in Milwaukee, WI; he was the son of Ioppolito and Maria (D’Amato) Sorci. He was the beloved husband of Irene (nee Poweziak) Sorci for 66 years.

A U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, he operated in the Pacific Theater with 2nd Engineers Special Brigade Amphibious. He retired from Teletype Corporation, where he was an inspector/instructor, after 35 years of employment. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Past member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Cary.

He was the father of Sandy (Sam) Marino, Dale (Diana), Paul (Gail) and Roland Sorci; loving grandfather of 8, April, Michael, Brian, Justin, Ian, Roxanne, Dante and Ariana; and great-grandfather of 6.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Jay Sorce.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Querhammer and Flagg Funeral Home, Crystal Lake. Visitation continued 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the funeral home with Funeral mass 10:30 a.m. at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Cary; Father Tim Siegel officiating. Entombment in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 410 N 1st St, Cary, IL 60013 IL.
