She was born Sept. 26, 1922, in Maywood, Ill., to Gustave and Martha Imelmann. On April 7, 1942, she married Melvin Ackman in Huntley, Ill.
Elsa loved spending time with her family and friends. She had many hobbies. In recent years, she enjoyed crochet, bingo, and card games. She enjoyed many activities with her friends at Heritage Manor over the past eight years. She was an active member of the Juneau County Women of the Moose.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Duffy of New Lisbon, Wis., Donna (Ted) Curry of Newburgh, N.Y., and Marilyn Ackman of Shipman, Va.; 9 grandchildren, Pamela (Douglas) Dewey of Avalon, Wis., Cheryl (Ted) Spanbauer of Woodstock, Nanci (Brian Dermont) Duffy of Crystal Lake, Eugene (Susan) Duffy of McHenry, Dorothy Parken and Rick (Lisa) Mailler of New York, Roger Mailler of Oklahoma, Jason (Jamie) Ackman of La Crosse, Wis., Kerri (Chris Williams) Ackman of Monterey, Cal.; 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Monica Moore of Las Vegas, Nev.; and best friend, Lorraine Eggen of Crystal Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin; brother, Harold; step-brother, Tony; grandson, Shawn; and son-in-law, Earl Duffy.
A memorial visitation will be from 10am to 10:30am on Saturday, Dec. 14, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The memorial service will be at 10:30am. The Rev. Isaac Fleming of the First Congregational Church in Hillsboro, Wis. will officiate.
Inurnment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.
