She was born September 25, 1919 in Chicago to Robert and Matilda (Peterson) Carlson. At the age of two her family returned to Sweden where she lived until age 12. They returned to Chicago where she resided the rest of her life.
On May 29, 1942 she married Albert Krueger in Chicago. She was a supportive WWII military wife.
Evelyn enjoyed crafts, including knitting, sewing, and crocheting. She loved her home, family, and took great pride in her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelyn touched everyone she met with her warm smile and personality.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Jan (Ron) Hanson, Joann (Kurt) Jacobs, Joyce (Greg) Lucas; her grandchildren, Erik, Shannon, Kimberly, Kristin, Alex, and Dmitri; and five beloved great-grandchildren, Holly, Johanna, Margot, Owen, and Wesley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, Gunnar (Dorothy) Carlson, and her niece, Sonja Anderson.
There will be a gathering from 3pm until the 4pm Memorial service on Saturday, July 24 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 485 Woodstock St, Crystal Lake.
