Evelyn M. Schroeder, 93, of Crystal Lake died Monday, April 21, 2014. She was born May 6, 1920 on a farm in Barrington, IL to William and Mary (Hacek) Pichen. Her childhood was spent on the Pichen farm north of Cary. On August 18, 1940 she married Charles F. Schroeder, he preceded her in death in 2002. She worked at Oak Industries in Crystal Lake, and later at Precision Twist Drill Co for 30 years. When she was still active she enjoyed dancing, bowling, swimming, and square dancing.
Survivors include her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers.
Funeral services were private. Burial was at Union Cemetery in Crystal Lake.
