June Frances Munson, age 86, of Crystal Lake, Illinois passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023. She was born in Steger, IL on June 16, 1936 to the late James and Ebba (Gustavson) Alcumbrac. June married Lyle Munson on November 11, 1955 and cherished 56 years together.
June enjoyed her many trips with family camping, and traveling to Canada, Hawaii, and the Dakotas with Lyle and their son. As a hobby, she found her love for gardening and could be found caring for her rose garden. In her spare time, she enjoyed word searches, playing Pinochle, and watching old western films, Gunsmoke specifically.
June is survived by her son Randy Munson; her two sister-in-laws; and her two brother-in-laws. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister Viola Braunig; and her brother in law Werner Braunig.
A visitation for June will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, Illinois 60014. A funeral service will immediately follow. Burial will take place at McHenry County Memorial Park.
