Born to Viola and William Wierer, Larry honorably served his country in the U.S. Army while based in Hawaii. Following his military service, he spent many years working at Oak Industries, were he not only worked alongside his brother but also met the love of his life and future bride.
Larry was a man of simple pleasures and deep passions. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Johnny Cash, and he had an unmatched love for sports. He could be found watching wrestling every single night, but his absolute favorite moments were spent on the sidelines. He loved watching his niece Judy, his daughter Patti, and his granddaughter Sophia all play on the same softball fields. Larry also coached his youngest daughter Tina's soccer team, where his family will always fondly remember the sight of him hilariously "kicking the ball" along with the players from the sidelines.
A joyful soul who was always funny, Larry loved attending the Corn Fest in Island Lake alongside his niece Janet Beetham and her family. Above all, he was an amazing son, brother, father, and papa. He was filled with immense pride to watch his granddaughter Nicole marry her husband, Justin.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, as well as his beloved youngest daughter, Tina Maynard; his sister Barb Nielsen; and his goddaughter and niece, Judy Evans.
His legacy lives on through his seven grandchildren, Roy Tibbetts (Heather Carter), Kayla McQueen, Nicole (Justin) Nemec, Lauren Fiumetto, Sophia Fiumetto, Emily Maynard, and Nathan Maynard. He is also survived by his cherished great-grandchildren, Aiden, Ava, Addlynn Nemec, Rhett and Tyler Carter, and Charlotte and Barret.
