Linda Roman Schultz, age 82, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, in McHenry, Illinois. She spent most of her life in Mount Prospect, Illinois, where she raised her family and built a life centered on love, loyalty, and quiet strength.
Linda was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Virginia and Paul Roman. She was married to Robert C. Schultz, who preceded her in death. Together they built a family that remained the center of her world.
She was a devoted mother to Kimberly (Adrienne) Schultz and Robert P. (Penny) Schultz, who preceded her in death. Linda was a proud grandmother to Joe (Katy) Keegan, Nick Schultz, Hannah Schultz, and Addisyn Schultz, and an adoring great-grandmother to Brantley Tatro, Kelly Keegan, Charlotte Keegan, and Andrew Keegan.
Linda’s life was rooted in caring for others. She was a homemaker first and foremost, but she also held a cosmetology license and worked as a customer service representative for Crate and Barrel and Weber Grill, where her warmth, patience, and attention to detail never went unnoticed.
She was a fiercely loyal Chicago sports fan, cheering on the Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks, and Bulls through every season. She loved to read, tended her flower gardens with care, and was affectionately known as the family’s “gadget lady,” always eager to have the latest and greatest device. She deeply loved watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren play their sports, rarely missing a chance to cheer them on from the sidelines. She will also be forever remembered for her world-famous potato salad, a staple at family gatherings and a reflection of the love she put into everything she did.
Above all else, Linda was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who showed her love through consistency, generosity, and simply being there. Her presence was steady, her loyalty unwavering, and her legacy lives on through the family she cherished so deeply.
