

Belle Wenzel, a lifelong native of Cullman County, passed away on Friday, March 22nd. She had just celebrated her 104th birthday last December. She died peacefully in her sleep at home.
Mrs. Wenzel was preceded in death by husband Edward Charles Wenzel; her parents, Hiram Ham and Emma Ham; two sisters, Mae Ham Hosey and Nancy Ham Madison; five brothers, John Alex Ham, George Ham, Harvey Ham, Leonard Ham, and Joseph Willard Ham. She is survived by her two daughters, Emma Sue Wenzel and Betty ( Don) Wenzel Cole; niece and caregiver Jeanette Wren, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wenzel began work as a sewing machine operator at Porter Mills (later Oneida Mills) in Cullman and later became a supervisor. She retired in 1973 after working thirty-five years.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Moss Service Funeral Home
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, March 24, 2013 The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the service begins at 2:00 p.m. Eulogies will be given by Don Cole and Brent Wren during the funeral service. Interment will be at the Cullman Public Cemetery immediately following the funeral services. Because of the inclement weather forecast, there will no graveside services although the immediate family members plan to be at graveside during internment. Anyone wishing to do so is welcome to join the family.
