Funeral Services for Bess Jennings, age 88 of Cullman, will be Saturday, December 3, at 2:00 p.m. at Seventh Street Baptist Church, with Pastor Kerry Cleghorn officiating. Burial will follow at Cullman City Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at Seventh Street Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jennings passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at her home. She was born March 18, 1923 in Cullman to Jonathan “Capps” and Lillie Jones Williamson. She was a member of Seventh Street Baptist Church for 82 years. Mrs. Jennings was a 1942 graduate of Cullman High School and married for 58 years to Charles Julius Jennings. She was a secretary for King Edward Cigar Company for 24 years and later for the Cullman County Commission and retired at the age of 72.
Bess is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles J. Jennings; one brother, Aubrey Williamson; and one infant sister, Vera Wanda Williamson
Survivors include one Son, Michael Ellis (Gloria) Jennings of Opelika; two 2 – Daughters – Shelia (Rickey) Baker of Cullman and Donna (Steve) Swofford of Indian Springs; 7 – Grandchildren – Alicia (Jason) McClain of Cullman; Stephanie (Brian) Ferrell of Cullman; Joy (John) Ellis of Cullman; April Buxton of Cullman; J. Michael Baker of Kiev, Ukraine; Keith Swofford of Indian Springs and Rachel Swofford of Indian Springs; five 5 – Great-Grandchildren – Katelin, Kyle, and Kaleb Ferrell; Zachery McClain and Ethan Ellis; and one Niece – Julia Williamson Young.
Visitation will be at the church for two hours prior to the service on Saturday, December 3, 2011.
In Lieu-of-Flowers, the family request donations be made to Seventh Street Baptist Church – general fund or to Cullman Caring for Kids.
