Mrs. Joyce W. Whaley Turner

Funeral Services for Mrs. Joyce Whaley Turner, age 93, will be Thursday, June 21, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Grove Baptist Church, with Bro. Wayne Williams, Bro. Ray Ponder and Chris Chambless officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home of Cullman making arrangements.

Mrs. Turner passed away Monday, June 18, 2012 at Woodland Village Nursing Home. She was born on December 6, 1918 in Cullman to the late Albert and Retter Jane Hollis Whaley. Joyce was a resident of Woodland Village Health Care for 6 years. She loved to make necklace’s & bracelets out of beads, and play Bocce ball, and loved everyone.

Mrs. Turner is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Turner; one son, Robert Turner; daughter, Helen Stansell; two brothers Avis & Billy Whaley; five sisters, Clara Wilson, Valine Trapp, Elline Trapp, Lesilee Welch and Nell Stricklin.

Survivors include a Daughter – Edith (Herman) Elliott; one Son – Frankie (Kathey) Turner; 2 – Brothers – Buddy (Ruby) Whaley and Ardis (Pauline) Whaley; 13 – Grandchildren – Windell Turner, Wayne Turner, Joann (Larry) White, Dwight (Connie) Elliott, Sharon Elliott, Kevin Elliott, Kenneth (Renay) Elliott, Dewayne (Tina) Stansell, Tonny (Kara) Stansell, Ginger Fortenberry, Nevada (Christy) Turner, Terrill (Shanna) Turner and Jason (Shawna) Turner; 25 – Great- Grandchildren; 14 – Great-Great-Grandchildren; and a Host of Nieces & Nephews.

The family will receive friends here at the church on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
