Betty Jane Payne

Betty Jane Payne, 76, of Mitchells, VA passed away at her residence Monday, September 29, 2014. Mrs. Payne was born in Madison County, VA to Lindsey Powell Jenkins and Mattie Fincham Jenkins May 4, 1938. She is the widow of John “Bud” Payne, Sr. enjoyed cooking, video games and her grandchildren. Betty was the peacekeeper and was all about the love of family.

Surviving Mrs. Payne are her children, Ella Mae Burgamy of Culpeper, VA, Wanda Weaver and her husband Chris of Locust Grove, VA, Brenda Hartman of Culpeper, VA, Joyce Lloyd of Unionville, VA, John R. Payne and his significant other Mary Williams of Boston, VA , Wayne Payne and his wife Lisa of Mitchells, Va and step-daughter, Sandra Rivers and her husband Red of Culpeper, VA; her 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and her brother, John T. Jenkins and his wife Frances of Culpeper, VA. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home Friday, October 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Sandy Martin conducting the service. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until service time.
