

Howard “Mac” McArthur Cox, 66, of Reva, VA passed away at his residence Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Mr. Cox was born in Pulaski, VA to Willie Howard Cox and Louise Graham Cox January 26, 1945; worked as a sheet metal mechanic for Pierce Associates, retiring in 2010 after twenty-five years service; was a avid Redskins fan; was a member of Open Door Baptist Church; loved playing blue grass and gospel music and loved his family, children , grandchildren and two very special sisters-in-law.
Surviving Mr. Cox is his wife Carolyn Leake Cox of Reva, VA; his children, Candice Gayle Combs of Reva, VA, Yvonne Turan of Hustonville, KY and Terry Smith Weber of Fredericksburg, VA; his siblings, Windell Cox of Radford, VA, Ray Cox of Hillsville, VA, Gordon Cox of Salem, VA, Victor Cox of Dublin, VA, Gerry Cox of Dublin, VA, Patricia Garrett of Virginia Beach, VA and Betty Dauwen of Anticoh, TN; his grandchildren, Emily Combs, Joshua Combs, Madeline Combs, Desiree Scott and Mason Turan and a number of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home, Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bernie Jernigen conducting the service. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 3, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Clore-English Funeral Home.
