Margaret Ellen Carson

Margaret Ellen Carson, age 86, lifelong resident of Culpeper, VA passed away February 17, 2022 at her residence. Born October 25, 1935 to Everette Allen Powell, Sr. and Dora May Bryant, she made her life as a commercial artist after graduating from RPI in Richmond Virginia. She was an active member of the local chapter of the Gideon Women’s Auxiliary. She loved her family, friends and pets, and always appreciated a good laugh.

Margaret is survived by her husband William D. Carson of Culpeper, VA; son William D. Carson II with wife Kathy Futrell Carson of Fayetteville, NC; and daughter Louise Carson Driggers with husband John David Driggers of Vienna, VA, her brother Everette Allan Powell, Jr. and his wife Audrey, grandchildren include: Zachary Bryan Carson, Adam Matthew Carson, Jacob Thomas Carson, Lauren Marie Driggers and Lydia Grace Driggers. Preceded in death by grandson Phillip James Carson. Also survived by niece and nephew Joallison Powell Nicholls and Andrew Bryant Powell and their families.

There will be a Celebration of Margaret's Life Service held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2022 in the Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Hwy., Culpeper with Pastor Hans Murdock officiating. The family will have a burial at a later date at the Mt. Zion UMC Cemetery, Esmont, VA.
