

Margaret was born June 19, 1935 in the city of Danville, VA to Ruth Evelyn Jackson Warren and Basil Carlton Warren. After graduation from Schoolfield High School, she married Culpeper native James O. “J.O.” Weakley, Jr. Upon finishing his tour of duty in Europe, Margaret and James resided in Winchester, VA for eight years. They would return to Culpeper, VA in 1963, where they would spend their lives. Margaret worked as lead teller for Commercial and Savings Bank of Winchester for eight years. Upon coming to Culpeper, she worked as bookkeeper and secretary to Jack D. Weaver and Jack Mason Weaver at Weaver Buick before retiring in 1989. She would then be caregiver in her home for her aunt Mary Jackson Cook of Danville for ten years, and lastly her father Basil for two years.
Margaret was a member of Culpeper United Methodist Church, having joined the church in 1966. She was a life member of the United Methodist Women, as well as a forty- five year member of the Wesleyan Circle of the CUMC. Margaret volunteered her time as a Pink Lady at the Culpeper Memorial Hospital from 1965-1968, as well as the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, Culpeper County Volunteer Fire Department’s carnival, and the Cancer Society. Margaret loved music and sang in the Chancel Choir of the CUMC for nearly twenty years. She loved her “circle sisters,” her roses and flower gardens, her Boxer dogs—and most of all her family.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, J.O., and her mother and father—Ruth and Basil. Survivors include a son, James O. Weakley III of Culpeper; a paternal uncle, Robert Warren and family of Jordan Street, Danville; and maternal cousin Charles L. Rigney and family of Franklin Turnpike, Danville.
The family will receive friends at Clore-English Funeral Home, Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of Culpeper United Methodist Church, 1233 Oaklawn Drive, Culpeper, VA. Interment will immediately follow at Culpeper National Cemetery, new section on East Chandler Street. The family will receive friends for food and fellowship following the interment in the fellowship hall of Culpeper United Methodist Church.
