Margaret C. “Martine” Yowell, 75, of Sumerduck, VA passed away April 18, 2017 in Inova-Fairfax Hospital. Martine was born in Falls Church, VA, March 10, 1942 to the now late Thomas Alvin O’Halloran and Margaret Yost O’Halloran. She retired as a bookkeeper; enjoyed reading and sewing; was active in the U.D.C. and Eastern Star and was quoted in saying that classy ladies always wear high heels.
Surviving Martine are her children David Yowell, Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Washington, VA, Margaret Pettie of Rixeyville, VA, Lisa Dodson and her husband William, Jr. of Gordonsville, VA, Jenni Amos and her husband Greg of Sperryville, VA, Thomas Yowell, Sr. and his wife Sarah of Culpeper, VA and Melissa Yowell of Sumerduck, VA; her siblings, Mary Ruth Wiley and her husband Thomas of Austin, TX, Thomas O’Halloran and his wife Donna of Rixeyville, VA, and Susan Harwood of Wytheville, VA, and her 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 24, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Clore-English Funeral Home.
A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 11:00a.m. in the Culpeper Masonic Cemetery with Rev. Beth Glass and Rev. L. Bryan McClain conducting the service.
