Mattie Frances Dwyer

Mattie Frances Dwyer, 78, of Culpeper, VA passed away at UVA Medical Center, Charlottesville, VA, Monday, December 23, 2013. Mattie was born to Aubrey L. Brookman, Sr. and Mary Jane Mobury Brookman in Orange, VA May 7, 1935. Mattie was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Dwyer is her husband of 59 years, Melvin R. Dwyer, Sr. of Culpeper, VA; her son, Rick Dwyer and his wife Kathy of Culpeper, VA; her grandchildren, Robert Dwyer and Caroline Dwyer of Culpeper, VA; her siblings, Aubrey Lee Brookman, Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Kitty Hawk, NC and Myrtie “Sis” Smith and her husband Andrew of Culpeper, VA. She is preceded in death by her other siblings, Mary Lee Carroll, John Howard Brookman, Lois Jenkins and Lewis Brookman and her parents.

Funeral service will be held in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home, Monday, December 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Light conducting the service. Interment will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Clore-English Funeral Home.
