Robert Tyre Parrish

Robert Tyre Parrish, 72, of Rixeyville passed away Monday, December 25th, 2023. He was a graduate of Pelham High School in New York and studied at Clemson and James Madison universities. He moved permanently from New York to Virginia in the early 1980s where he met Susan Marquand. They later married and together had four sons. Rob worked as a software salesman at Users Incorporated for over 20 years and was highly successful in his career. He spent much of his post-retirement life on his family's farm, where he played an active role in helping raise his grandchildren and spent his days surrounded by his sons and an extensive network of family and friends. He was an amateur genealogist, a history buff, and above all else a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin who will be greatly missed by the many people who loved him. Rob was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Edward Parrish Jr., and his older brothers Alexander (Connie) and Edward III (Dawson). He is survived by his former wife, Susan Parrish, who he remained close with until his passing, his brother Charles (Suzie), his sons Edward IV “Ned” (Jessica), Samuel “Sam” (Sarah), Maxwell “Max” (Ryan), and Henry “Gus” (Taylor), his grandchildren, Sully, Edward V “Teddy”, Violet, Leo, Jack, and Evan, and many cousins. We would like to thank his friends and family for the support and visits over the past few difficult months. A memorial service will take place in the spring and burial at Little Fork Church. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to glioblastoma research.
