

Benjamin Arellano Gacad died at Hollywood Presbytarian Hospital in Los Angeles, CA on May 13, 2016 due to complications following a three year valiant battle with cancer. He was 75. Benjamin (Ben) Gacad was born on April 27, 1941 in San Francisco del Monte, Quezon City, Philippines to his parents, Francisca Arellano Gacad and Aurelio Mayo Gacad. He attended the University of Santo Tomas HS. He served in the Philippine Constabulary as a young adult. He married Corazon (Connie) Benitez Gacad in 1968 and moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1971 where he and Connie raised their family of three daughters. In the United States, Ben Gacad had a successful career in public service, working with the Drug Unit of the State of California Department of Health, the California State Government Franchise Tax Board and finally retiring as Licensing Program Analyst with the State of California Department of Social Services in 1996. After retirement, Ben Gacad established his own Community Care Consulting Solo Practice and continued to pursue his hobbies of photography, chess, dancing and spending time with his family and friends. Ben Gacad is survived by his wife Corazon; his daughters Imee (Stephen), Jennifer (Matt), and Karina; his granddaughters Ella Jude Gacad Perius and Olive Sol Gacad Purnell; his siblings Arsenio, Cristino (Rosalinda), Demetrio (Evelyn), Esther (Ray), Florence (Bonnie), Gualberto (Teresita) and Helen (Conde). He is preceded in death by his mother and father. Ben Gacad will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, CA on May 28, 2016.
