Every day this past year, it's been unreal that you passed away, dear brother. Today on this 1 yr. anniversary of your passing it's no different. However the stronger feeling is that you are with our beautiful Dad, Alvaro Aguilar Sr., that we shared. Somos seres fugaces en nuestro paso por la vida, si es que creemos que la vida termina y no una etapa de la eternidad del ser, del alma.
Ante tal dilema, al menos nos consuela que la huella de ese paso inevitable sea una eterna estela de amor, bondad y dulzura.

Mi querido sobrino JAVIER., con mucho dolor en mi corazÃ³n te escribo estas lÃ­neas. Que rÃ¡pido pasa la vida , me parece que fue ayer cuando estabas chiquito , cuando llegue a LOS ANGELES que  te cuide y te mandaba a la escuela y cuando regresabas de la escuela  solo  querias comer  HOT DOGS,y tu mama se enojaba porque no querias comida de la que ella dejaba. Hace unas semanas nos hablaste por  sky  y fue como una despedida porque nos dijistes   a Cabo y a mi que nos querias mucho , y cuando recibimos la noticia de tu muerte ha sido terrlble para  nosotros pero tenemos que  aceptar  la  VOLUNTAD DE DIOS NUESTRO SEÃ‘OR. DIOS querÃ­a que te fueras acompaÃ±ar  a ALVARO TU PAPA,Viniste a COSTA RICA  a despedirse de toda la familia aquÃ­ y te disfrutamos mucho esos dÃ­as,Bueno querido sobrino , no te digo ADIOS , te digo hasta luego.. De tu tia que siempre te quiso mucho............MERCE.

Jay para mi desde hace poco mÃ¡s de 2 aÃ±os se convirtiÃ³ en un hermano al cual quiero con todo mi corazÃ³n. Recuerdo hace un aÃ±o y medio aproximadamente cuando coordinÃ© junto con TÃ­a Lieta y Ã©l la sorpresa de la visita a Costa Rica y la sinceridad con la que me volviÃ³ a ver y me dijo "gracias porque pudimos confiar en usted y no nos fallÃ³". 
En mi visita a USA en el mes de abril, tuve el honor de compartir con Jay Ã­ntimamente en su casa, conversamos muchÃ­simo todas las noches que estuve con Ã©l y desde entonces la conexiÃ³n que tuvimos fue impresionante. Nos mantenÃ­amos en contacto por medio del celular (what's App) y conversÃ¡bamos cualquier tema.
Fue un gran consejero para mi y siempre me quedarÃ© con su sonrisa, su calidad de forma de ser, su cariÃ±o y sobre todo su sinceridad para decir las cosas.
Jay, siempre te llevarÃ© en mi corazÃ³n y sÃ© que en el momento mÃ¡s difÃ­cil de mi vida estuviste ahÃ­ conmigo hace una semana dÃ¡ndome las fuerzas que ya no tenÃ­a. No te puedo decir adiÃ³s porque serÃ­a engaÃ±arnos mutuamente, te digo hasta luego porque estoy seguro que nos vamos a ver en otra vida.

I will my friend Javier. He was wonderful man who loved his family very much. I will miss our conversations, his jokes and most of all his smile.  I feel proud that he considered me a trusted friend and I will cherish his friendship forever. He is resting now and I look forward to seeing him In paradise.

Javier, I will miss your kindness, your gentle soul, and your warm, sincere smile. Every memory I have of you throughout our lives, as cousins and as friends, is a good one, full of kindness, happiness, and positivity, and I thank you for that! I will always remember you as someone that brought sincere joy wherever he went.

Hoy 29 de noviembre del 2014, doy gracias infinitas a Dios por haber tenido la oportunidad de compartir y mas frecuentemente en los Ã¹ltimos aÃ±os con mi querido primo Javer Aguilar.
Tengo muy lindos recuerdos de grandes conversaciones; bastante extensas, en el comedor de TÃ­a Lieta.  HablÃ¡bamos de muchos temas en especial de vivencias familiares, lindos y no tan lindos momentos.  Nos conocimos mas afondo, nos consolamos, nos aconsejamos.
Agradezco a Dios haber permitido el aÃ±o pasado su viaje, junto a TÃ­a Lieta a Costa Rica,  me parece fue una despedida para todos los que vivÃ­amos aquÃ­.  Doy gracias a Dios por haber podido realizar el viaje familiar en Diciembre 2013 y que toda mi familia pudiera compartir grandes momentos con Ã©l.
Gracias Javier por ser tan cercano a mÃ­, no me queda mÃ¡s que aceptar la voluntad de Dios aunque duela; me consuela saber que si soy buena persona como vos, entonces nos volveremos a ver en un futuro, te quiero y siempre ocuparÃ¡s un gran lugar en mi corazÃ³n,  con todo cariÃ±o. Sabri

From our early days growing up in Costa Rica in the early sixties and after a brief separation reunited again in Los Angeles in 1964, Javier to me was always that little brother I never had. The genuine smile we all remember Javier displayed throughout his life was there from those early days as a little boy till the last time each one of us saw him as he could not help but show you that smile upon greeting you or upon departure for that matter as he expressed appreciation.
I will miss Javier tremendously. His smile, his love and appreciation for life and family was unsurpassed. I feel as though he was chosen to take the lead and he is with each one of us for the rest of our journey here on earth as he awaits our reunion with him and that genuine smile. 
Javier, thank you for being part of my life as well as my family's, my wife Janine and my children Austen, Elly and Dane. We will always remember you fondly.

Words can't describe how lonely I feel now that you are no longer here.  You were the man I swore I never wanted to be, but realize now I never COULD be.  How did you do it?  you deserved to live and enjoy everything that you worked so hard for.  You are and always will be the definition of what a real man is, because you handled your everyday business like a man should.  You were the best most loving son, brother, and father everyday.  Things that I used to swear were so important now seem so insignificant, because I can't share them with you.  I will live every day to make you proud of me.  You will forever be my shepherd and I will be your sheep.  If I could spend 10 more seconds with you, I would say, â€œthank you, thank you, thank you.â€  â€œThe proof is in the puttingâ€, â€œcarry on, soldierâ€.  I love you Dad.

Familia! SÃ© que Dios tienen un tiempo y propÃ³sito para todo, y en este momento no es la diferencia. Pido a Dios que tenga a Jay con alegrÃ­a en comuniÃ³n con nuestros otros seres queridos, y sabiendo que nos volveremos a reunir. Poco tiempo compartÃ­ con Javier,  pero sÃ© que era un gran ser humano,  muy preocupado por sus dos hijos,  muy  atento con tÃ­a Lieta y un buen hermano,muy trabajador, responsable y cariÃ±oso.  PasÃ© conversando mientras regresabamos de casa de TÃ­o Felo y nos dirigiamos a casa de TÃ­a Lieta,  para luego compartir una noche muy especial en el Dodgers Stadium.  Haberlo visto bajar del carro en marzo 2013 en Costa Rica fue una gran sorpresa que nos alegrÃ³ a todos.   Descanse en paz!!!  te llevaremos en nuestros corazones siempre y tenemos la fÃ© que estÃ¡ reunido con nuestros seres queridos y que nos recibirÃ¡n cuando nos toque estar en presencia del SeÃ±or!!!!

I never thought your life would end so soon, but even through all the pain of missing you, I really am grateful for every moment we ever had together on this earth. Llego a ser un gran electricista, puesto que desempeno por 30 anos en el 
hospital Harbor UCLA en Torrance, Ca., lugar en que llego a ser muy respetado
Y querido por sus jefes, companeros,, doctores y personal medico, ya que el
Siempre Annaba previniendo problemas que pudieran en accidentes..
Como hijo no tengo palabras como explicar el gran vacio que deja en mi
(Love You Mom) la quiero mucho mama me persigue por todo lado ya que me lo
Decia a diario en persona o por Telefono ya que me llamaba a diario a ver como
Amaneci.  Estrano mucho los desayunos de Los domingos en el que nos reuniamos Alv.Jr, Javier y yo y conversabamos de todo, planes, problemas,
Alegrias, nunca hubo secretos entre nosotros. Nos sentabamos a ver partidos
De baseball o soccer juntos, todo eso lo voy a estranar por el resto de mi vida.
Aun asi le doy gracias  a el SR.y a la Virgen por prestarmelo por 56 anos, donde
Estoy segura que ya estara reunido con nuestros seres queridos y donde me

And just like that; the dreadful 1 month anniversary of your death, dear brother. When our Dad Alvaro died, the one month anniversary was UNBEARABLE for my husband and me.... Rest in peace Dad. It offers us the tiniest comfort today to realize you are HOME with our Dad; both of you in Christ's loving embrace. Over here, we're holding Christ's hand on this side. Dear Jay,
We shared many conversations related to any and everything, you were always around to assist with any and everything, your a person I could always depend upon.. and always approaching with your beautiful smile.. With your hands up... Saying "Helen what do you need KNOW!" Having our birthdays just one day apart from each other, we had alot in common, which gave us a very special bond and friendship.. 
YOU WILL BE MISSED MY GOOD GOOD FRIEND AND THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A SPACE IN MY HEART JUST FOR YOU!! UNTIL WE SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN, SAVE SOME OF YOUR SPECIAL STORIES/JOKES FOR ME.. SENDING OXOX

You continue to be in my prayers. 
Javier's spirit lives on within our memories.  He will still bring smiles when we reminisce.
While at his funeral service, I heard a small bell, that was not part of the ceremony and I thought of Javier.  Than I heard a second bell, and my thought was that he had received his second wing.  In the few days that have passed, I've heard that same bell at different times and places.  Each time I have felt his presence, so I wrote this:
**I heard the tinkle of a bell       and thought of you.
Than a second, and I thought of an angel.
Each time I hear this tinkling bell,
I feel that you are with me.**
May the Lord give you strength.

Jay,
We shared 18 years of marriage together, during which time we chose and adopted the two best children God could have ever blessed us with.  They were the apple of your eye, and you loved them more than anything.  My heart breaks knowing you won't be here to share and guide Martha and Jesse through college graduations, to walk Martha down the aisle on her wedding day.  We won't share having grandchildren together, and watching them grow up and live their lives.  You never got to share in Jesse's successes in becoming the man you always wanted him to be.  You were so proud of our children.  You were the strongest man I've ever met, and you stood against injustices whenver you saw them.  You made me a better electrician as we worked many side jobs together.  You taught me to love animals, talk radio, trucks, how to laugh at myself, and how to take care of business.  There are no words that can express how broken our hearts are right now.  Our kids have only begun blossoming into what we dreamed of, and planned for.  I'm relying on your strength and the strength of our Lord Jesus Christ to finish the job you and I started together in 1990.  May you and Papi rest in eternal peace together, until we are all taken up.  Love never dies.

For the remainder of my life I will miss my brother. He was also my best friend,
no more breakfasts, dinners, conversation over coffee, no more Dodger or Galaxy games. When I need his help, he will not be there. My brother was always there for me and many times when the chips were down, he came through for me. Yes,

Like all parents, we ALL have our ups and downs.  What I can say with certainty is that Jay loved his kids and family more than anything. He spoke about his kids often.  I will miss him greatly.  He became a brother to me as he looked out for me and the other nurses.  He will never be forgotten.  His love for his children will never be forgotten.  Peace to his family.  Peace to all who will forever miss him.

My dear cousin,  I will miss you but I know we will meet again.  I am so thankful for all the childhood memories and the loving conversations we had has adults.  I will fondly remember how much you cared.    With love Debi
