Joseph "Joe" Toia was born June 28, 1960, in Inglewood, CA. He was raised in Westchester, CA and resided there until his death on December 13, 2016. At the age of 24 he met his life long partner and soulmate, Lori, who he married in 1990. Together they welcomed two beautiful daughters, Sammi in 1993 and Sara in 1996.
He grew up under the wing of his father, Sam, who taught him everything he needed to know about the seafood and poultry business at Exposition Poultry and Seafood. He then went on to own Meadow Farms Sausage Company where he produced hot dogs and sausages, and became known for producing the original LA bacon wrapped street dog. He was a very hard working man, both in business and in his personal life. Joe was a strong believer in helping others and his community. He lived his life the way Jesus taught us that we should. Joe proved time and time again that he was a gentle, kind, and giving man.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Lori, daughters, Sammi and Sara, siblings, Michael, Mary Grace, and Johnny, several nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.
He joins his father, Sam, and mother, Grace, in eternity.
Services will be located at the Church of the Visitation: 6561 W. 88th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
