It was with a sadden heart that we received the news of June's passing.  We knew your Mom and Dad during our tour at Clark AFB, the Philippines.  Having not spoken to June for many years, a couple months ago we felt compelled to get in touch with her.  We had a wonderful conversation with her and relived our times in the Philippines together as well as catching up on her children and our mutual friends.  She was very lively and a joy to talk with.  At the time she was so excited about life.  It's hard to see tomorrow when someone you love is going, but God is always with you and will not leave you comfortless.  Please accept our sincere condolences to the family for your dear loss.  Cherish all the memories.  Del & Betty

WHAT A WONDERFUL FRIEND I HAD IN JUNE.  WE SPENT TIME TOGETHER WHILE WE LIVED IN CAPE CORAL AND JUNE AND JIM IN MELBORN, BOTH  RETIRED IN FLORIDA.  I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER OUR HOUR LONG PHONE CONVERSATIONS, SHARING, SO MUCH OF OUR LIVES.  WE LOST TOUCH WHEN JUNE MOVED TO CALIFORNIA  BUT SHE WILL ALWAYS REMAIN IN MY HEART.  MY PREYERS ARE WITH YOU BOYS.  GOD BLESS!

I recall that June worked for the New Yorker in her early years - she never lost that flair.  I saw her five years ago at the reunion in Myrtle Beach.  She wore a bright red pants suit and a large red floppy hat.  I'd have known her anywhere.  She was always fashionable, friendly & funny (and maybe add fiesty to that list), and will be missed.  To see "little" Jim's remark about watching his mother's 2nd favorite TV show made me realize the Rhine sense of humor lives on.  My sincere condolences to the family.

As old Kabul hands Jim, June and I had much to share in the earlier years of our retirements via ham radio and Ma Bell.  These are memories of both we cherish, and we rejoice that they are together again in a place far better than ones we knew in past years overseas.

June and I had numerous conversations over the years.  Unfortunately, I never had the pleasure of meeting here face-to-face.  With ever conversation my spirits were lifted as she doted on her children.  No doubt in my mind who could leap the tall buildings with a single bound, and that is as it should be.
