LLOYD L. SMITH
Lloyd L. Smith, a farmer boy
from Granville, IL, as he would say.
Born May 29, 1922, passed away on
October 8, 2017 at the age of 95.
Son of Hester G. Williams, Father of Larry L. Smith, Grandfather
of four, Dawn Smith, Craig Smith, Wendy Farrington & Colleen
Carpenter and a Great grandfather of two boys, Cody Workman &
Matthew Workman.
Mr. Smith was a WW2 Veteran and a longtime resident of Culver
City.
A Proud Alumni of USC, who became a successful Public
Accountant and a Real Estate Investor. However his great passion
and pride lied in his world of plants, where he found great
happiness and joy.
Astonishingly, at the ripe old age of 95, Mr. Smith continued to
work each and every day and all day running his businesses as well
as working in his world of plants on the roof top of his building in
the heart of Culver City. Mr. Smith was an active member for many
years of several garden clubs and societies. He won many trophies
and accolades for his green thumb.
His final resting location will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in
Culver City but he will remain in our hearts forever.
Mr. Smith: “Do you know what retire means to me?”
Other Person: “What?”
Mr. Smith: “It means to go out and get new tires on my vehicle.”
