Born in the Bronx, New York to Michael and Nora Cunningham, the youngest of 6 children.
Peggy married her “Doll” Raymond John Leoni on October 2, 1949. They moved from the Bronx to Los Angeles with their two children, Deborah and Raymond, in 1954. Mark, Anthony and Vincent rounded out the family in Hollywood.
Peggy raised their five children and lived the next 64 years in her Hollywood home which still serves as a source of innumerable memories for scores of loved ones.
She and Ray hosted most holidays, baptism, confirmation and graduation parties and wedding rehearsal dinners in their beloved home.
Peggy is the last of her generation to enter the gates of heaven – the Greatest Generation.
Peggy is predeceased by her “Doll” Raymond John Leoni, parents, Michael and Nora Cunningham and all her siblings and their spouses; Mary Woods (Howard), Nora Testa (Cosmo), Sally Leoni (John) and Kay Patinelli (Frank).
She is survived by her children Deborah, Raymond (Josie), Mark, Anthony (Lisa) and Vincent (Gregoria), her grandchildren Kathleen, Gina, Elisabeth, Michael, Vincent and Jessica and a number of nieces and nephews.
Peggy lived a full life of love and service to others, with no job too small and no task unimportant. She was fun loving and a little feisty She had a unique sense of humor and a strong faith in God. She lived by example and was appreciated for her kindness and generosity.
Memorial will take place at Blessed Sacrament Church in Hollywood on Saturday, February 3rd at 11:30 AM. There will be a rosary followed by Mass. Immediately after Church there will be a reception in the Parish Auditorium for food and sharing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to one of Peggy’s favorite causes: the Sister Servants of Mary Ministers to the Sick.
