

Born in Moncton, NB on February 24, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Charles Gilbert and the late Joyce (Gordon) Gilbert.
Gail attended teachers college and taught for a few years before dedicating herself to her family and home. She had a deep love for cooking and was especially known for her famous cherry cheesecake, which became a staple at countless family gatherings over the years. In earlier years, Gail enjoyed going to her family retreat in Miguasha to watch the sun go down over the mountains. She enjoyed going for drives with Eddy to the lookout at Morrissey Rock and stopping for a hamburger on the way home. She enjoyed working with her flowers in the summer, and watching the birds at the feeder during the winter months. Gail was an avid Blue Jays fan and enjoyed watching curling and tennis from the comfort of her living room.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Eddy, her son Todd (Christa), her sister June Harris (Stan), her brothers, Mike (Suzanne) and Allen, her sister in law Kathleen Fitzpatrick, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her niece Lori Harris, her brother Stephen (Nancy) and her step mother Gerry (Johnson) Gilbert.
The family would like to thank the Extra Mural team who provided excellent care and compassion to Gail during her illness.
Donations to a charity of the donor’s choice, would be appreciated by the family.
A Graveside Service for Gail will be held at a later date.
