Helen (Senechal) Legacy of Dalhousie passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on September 28, 2021, at the age of 80. Born in Charlo on February 8, 1941, she was the daughter of the late George Senechal and Glenna Thompson.
Helen worked as a nurse for 35 years at the Hotel Dieu Hospital in Campbellton and Saint Joseph Hospital in Dalhousie. Prior to her retirement Helen was active in the Dalhousie Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary She was also a member of the Saint John Bosco CWL. Helen was an avid crafter, and her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, paper tole and ceramics.
Predeceased by her husband Martin Legacy on September 13, 2021 and sister Patricia in 1957, Helen is survived by her two sons, Marc (Louise) of Rusagonis NB and Keith (Donna) of Oromocto NB, four grandchildren, Corey, Jennifer, Brandon (Shara) and Brittany, three great-grandchildren, Chase, Kassidy and Easton, brothers Earl (Evelyn), Ronald (Corinna) of Charlo, James (June) of Pembroke, ON and sister Linda (Ernest) Barthe of Dalhousie.
A funeral mass will be held at St. John Bosco Church in Dalhousie on Friday November 12 at 2:00 pm. A proof of double Covid-19 vaccination with an identification card will be taken at the entrance and masks will be required.
Donations in Helen’s memory can be made to the Restigouche County SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of the Darlington Manor for the excellent care given to Helen while a resident there. She loved her caregivers, and this was reciprocate.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.
