

Glenn Howell Hatcher, 63, of Dallas passed away Monday, May 29, 2017, at home with his loved ones by his side. Glenn was a proud graduate of the University of Mississippi where he earned a BA and MS degree. Glenn and his family moved to Dallas, NC from Oxford, MS when he accepted a teaching position at Gaston College as an instructor of English. A thoughtful, intelligent man, Glenn was passionate about instilling a love for the arts with every student he taught. A father not only to his daughter Hannah, but seen as such to many students as well. His influence and encouragement was felt by many.
Glenn was preceded in death by his father H. H. Hatcher and Grandmother Mary Lou Hatcher both of Pontotoc, MS.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 31 years, Miliana (Mahoney) Hatcher, daughter Hannah Hatcher (Phillip Anderson), beloved step-son Chris Ramsey in Tucson, AZ, mother Dorothy (Mounce) Hatcher and grandson Owen Anderson. Glenn is also survived by his brothers Ricky Hatcher and Ronnie Hatcher (Tammy), Aunt Betty Kane (Jim), Uncles Rudolph Hatcher (June) and Kenneth Hatcher (Glenda) and nieces and nephews Mary Elizabeth, Caroline, Eli, Michael and Miranda all of Pontotoc, MS.
A Celebration of Life for Glenn will be at 5:00 PM on Friday June 2, 2017 at The Dallas Funeral Home, 212 W. Trade Street, Dallas.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM prior to the services.
