William “Will” Lewis Morey, Jr., 51, of Dallas, NC died unexpectedly while traveling in Florida on Sunday, March 17, 2024. Will was born June 29, 1972, in Marion County, West Virginia. His parents are Beverly (Ridenour) Morey and William “Bill” Morey, Sr. After graduating High School, Will proudly served his county as an Airman in The United States Air Force. He served during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Will was a Christian and a devoted family man. He was very protective of his family. He loved his son, Maddox, and adored and cherished his wife, Talisha. Will worked for the city of Charlotte managing the mechanic’s shop. He worked his way up from being a mechanic, working on city vehicles, to being the manager of the shop. Will was very hands-on and could fix nearly everything. Will was very much a people person, never met a stranger, and all that met him loved him. He had a sweet disposition. He had a calm presence and was not easily rattled. He was always curious and liked to learn new things. He loved his motorcycle and enjoyed riding with his wife and friends exploring the roads and hills whenever he could. Will’s life was cut short too soon. He impacted many other people’s lives and he will be greatly missed by his family, friends, co-workers, and all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish their memories of Will, and charged with carrying on Will’s legacy are his wife, Talisha Sheree Morey, and their son, Maddox, of the home. His two stepsons Kc Phillips and Cameron Phillips. His parents, Bill and Beverly Morey of Lancaster, South Carolina. He also leaves behind his sister, Becky (Morey) Pressley, and her husband, Scott. He leaves behind his two nephews, Greg Pressley and Eric Pressley. A loving second family, Brother and Sister-in-law, Greg and Brandy Richards, and a niece Alyssah Richards. A father and mother-in-law Doyle and Darlene Clemmer. Also grieving Will's loss is his brother at heart and best friend, Jim Muncie.
A service celebrating Will’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Carothers Dallas Funeral Home, 212 West Trade Street, Dallas, North Carolina. His family will receive friends before the service, at the funeral home, beginning at 12:00 pm. Will, will receive full military honors accorded by the United States Air Force and the Gaston County Honor Guard at the beginning of the Celebration of Life Service.
