This memory cube and the next 3 pics was one of my last gifts to my Dad, and now sits on my bookcase. Thank you for your love Daddy and for helping to introduce me to my Savior and Lord! I look forward to seeing you again, until then I will run my race that Jesus has given to me!~Dawn Alisha

Dear Carolyn, 
Even a few months after his passing, we still recall memories of Alex and his heart toward helping those in need. His support to our family in the passing of our loved ones. 
He also, repeatedly assisted a fellow church member in ways no one knew. We are thankful to God for his Christian example, his thoughtfulness and diligence in actively displaying the heart of our Lord.

My memory of Alex is as a smart, dedicated, family man. He spoke words of wisdom to Jason when attending college in Arlington. We thanked Alex for his time and generosity.

My fondest memory of Alex is how he could share wisdom nuggets on most topics. He enjoyed conversations about spiritual truths and how we live out that truth.  It’s what I’ll miss the most about him. To my dear Aunt Carolyn, cousin Felicia, Dawn, and Jonathan, may each memory strengthen and encourage you each day. We love you. 

I will remember him as Uncle Alex. He was always faithful in the Lord. Lead his family in strength and grace. He helped to improve my grandmother's home when she was a widower. His legacy will live on through his children and grandson. He will be missed. 

Alex was my neighbor for twenty years.  We had many across the fence conversations.  My condolences to Carolyn, Dawn and Felicia.

My deepest condolences to the Matthew’s family. I will always remember his voice, you could not mistake it. My parents moved into the home next door to his in 1977. Dawn was my first best friend. I will forever cherish that friendship. Mr. Matthew’s was a soft spoken gentleman that exuded nothing but love and kindness. I will forever cherish his love, kindness & guidance. I pray for peace, comfort & healing for the family during this difficult time. 🙏🏼💜🕊

I remember Alex from IRS, he made me feel welcome and gave good advice.  He was stern but all out of love his smile and words were most endearing to me.

My deepest condolences to the Matthew Family.  Very special next door neighbors to my parents since 1977.  I will always remember his kindness.  Sending love and prayers as God welcomes him into His kingdom and may he Rest In Peace.

It was an honor to know Mr. Matthew and work with him and Carolyn at Good News Club. It was a blessing to have a godly man teach and interact with the children that came to hear the Good News about Jesus Christ.  His faithfulness will be remembered. Those of us at Child Evangelism Fellowship Dallas send our condolences and prayers for the family.  

I grew up with Jay, may his soul rest in peace.  God Bless and give strength to his family.

My condolences goes out to  the Matthew's family.I just saw Uncle Jay at my father's funeral which was his brother, Gilord in March of this year.My prayers are going up for his family and that they may receive some peace in their life.Reach in peace Uncle Jay.

Praying for the family, I grew up in the same community that Jay grew up in.   Although, not blood related, Four Corners was a small community where families reared their children as one big family.
We Pray for your entire family strength. God will take care of you.

Uncle Jay was the patriarch of the family and he thought he was everybody’s dad. He would give wanted and unwanted advice.😀He was wise beyond his years and I enjoyed talking to him. When my mom passed which was Uncle Jay’s sister; he really stepped up. My heart is sadden by his passing and I will truly miss our conversations.

Our loss is heaven’s gain.

I am continuing to pray for your family. May God see you through this.

My  heart is broken to lose such a great brother in Christ. Alex and I had lunch once every 2 to 3 weeks and talked about everything going on in our lives, our kids and wives. Most the time we ate at Red lobster, he always order the same thing, fisherman platter, with asparagus, salad no croutons or cheese with  the champagne vinaigrette
His love for the Lord, RC, Sproul, John Macarthur, Chuck Swindell, and pastor Hawkins gave us hours a armour sharping  armour.   I miss him always saying Brother Bill when we talked on the phone for hours or meet in person
It has been a great honor and blessing to be his friend and fellow brother in Christ, He was a great father, husband and grandfather and friend
I will miss him but looking forward to seeing him in Heaven and rejoicing and worshipping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
Heave is a better place today because God brought Alex home

Alex was simply amazing.  He was always there for others and served as a mentor and coach for many throughout his career with the IRS.  I met Alex in 1978 while working in RPM.  His passion in helping others to succeed was sincere and honest.  I will forever cherish the bond and friendship we shared.  His faith was STRONG and I will never forget him.  Know that Alex was loved by many and  May He Rest in Peace.  My deepest sympathy to the family and wishing all comfort and peace.    

Alex and I were Managers together at the IRS.  He was a wonderful mentor to me and was one of the nicest men I have ever known.  He had an impact on many during his long IRS career.  My thoughts and prayers are with your family.  

Alex was one of my coaches when I began with the IRS in 1978 and continued to work together for many years.  He will be fondly remembered.
