Alice K. Erler

Alice Keller Erler was born to Milton and Isabel Keller on January 28, 1923 on a Banana Plantation in Guatemala. Shortly after she was born, the family returned to Del Rio, TX where she graduated from High School and then attended a Girls Finishing School. She worked Civil Service for the U. S. Army where she met the love of her life Fred Erler Jr in 1946. They were married for 60 years until his passing in 2006. Alice and her husband were long time church members of First United Methodist Church, Richardson, TX were she was active in the Women’s Ministry. Alice enjoyed family actives and traveling with her husband to many different states and countries. She was filled with a bubbly spirit and loved to entertain her friends and family. Christmas Eve was also a joyous time due to this being Alice and Fred’s wedding anniversary as well as the eve of her Lord and Savior’s birth. She celebrated every holiday to its fullest embracing long lived traditions. Alice’s love for flowers led her to take a Floral Design class and she continued to create beautiful arrangements for friends and family.

Alice is survived by her son, Fred Erler III and his wife, Stephanie (Sam) Foster-Erler and grandson’s Fred Christopher Erler and John Foster. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Jane Mahavier of San Antonio, TX. Alice is preceded in death by her beloved husband Fred Erler, Jr., her mother and father Milton and Isabel Keller-Drake, Sister Laura Keller and Brother Charles Keller.

Alice was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Aunt. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be Monday, January 12, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Sparkman Hill Crest Funeral home. Services will be Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Jesse Littleton from Pineville, LA. will be presiding. Interment following at Laurel Land Cemetery, Dallas, TX.

Pallbearers attending to her are Fred Erler III, F. Christopher Erler III, Lance Blakley, David Herring, Johnny Walker, Jr., Ralph Walker and Honorary Pallbearer Jonah Brusniak.
