He received his formal education in Kilgore, Texas.
At an early age Mr. Alonzo Hicks professed Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and
he was a member of Mt. Zion CME Church in Tyler.
He joined the Armed Forces of the United States in July 1955 where he acquired the skill of a chef. He was employed as a chef for a major hotel in Tyler, Texas prior to moving to Dallas, Texas. He changed professions and became a plumber and joined the local 100 where he became a master plumber until he retired.
He married Betty McDaniel on March 29, 1956.
Mr. Hicks transitioned from this life on Monday, June 4, 2018.
Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his wife Betty Hicks; his only grandchild - Dominick Hicks
parents Charlie and Pearlie Hicks; sister - Mattie Caraway and brother-Charlie Hicks, Jr..
He leaves to cherish his wonderful memories, his daughters
Deborah and Angelia Hicks
Brothers- Curtis (Hattie) Hicks and Margene (Rochelle Warren) Hicks
Sisters- Lizzie Eurine and Anitha Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
