Anna Lillian (Walsh) Albin, affectionately known as “Anna Banana,” was born on July 23, 1938, in Dallas, Texas. She slipped away quietly on February 8, 2026, in Bedford, Texas, at Parkwood Healthcare Nursing.
Anna grew up in Dallas with her parents, James I. and Lucile M. (Smith) Walsh, and her younger brother, Sidney. She attended Highland Park High School and briefly attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas.
Anna married Richard J. Thomes, and together they had four children: Jennifer, Bruce, Craig, and Lorelai. She later married Gilbert “Dean” Albin, and they made their home in Richardson, Texas.
Anna was a kind and loving soul who found joy in nature. She loved swimming and scuba diving alongside her husband Dean, and she cherished time spent visiting with her children and grandchildren. She adored her cats and found comfort and happiness playing the piano, singing, crafting, and creating Christmas ornaments and necklaces. Her infectious, one-of-a-kind laugh will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lucile Walsh; her brother, Sidney Walsh; her husband, Dean Albin; and her children, Jennifer Thomes Day, Bruce Thomes, and Craig Thomes.
She is survived by her daughter, Lorelai Taylor, and husband Ray; her grandchildren, Kara Sanders and husband Travis, Amanda Ortiz-Nabarro and husband Ernest, Kaitlin Wooley and husband Benjamin; and her grandsons, Devin Moody and Joshua Legge.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the loving and compassionate staff at Parkwood Healthcare for the care and kindness shown to Anna.
A family gathering and committal will be held on February 28, 2026, at 11:00 am in Mausoleum Garden located at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 W Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX 75225.
